Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Six months experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Knowledgeable in cooking large quantities of food with little to no direction on how to cook the recipes.
• Knowledgeable of culinary practices, procedures, and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following menus and recipes; ensure appetizing appearance.
• Inspect diet trays to ensure correct diets; follow portion controls and therapeutic diets.
• Prepare cold item foods, bakery and salad items.
• Cook hot foods; follow food safety and culinary procedures.
• Adhere to food service timelines and handle substitutions for residents.
• Serve meals to residents and guests; assist with special meals and events.
