Job summary

Vitality is seeking a skilled cook to join our culinary team in a vibrant community setting. The role involves reviewing menus, preparing meals that meet dietary orders and recipes, and ensuring food safety standards are followed.

You will manage portion control and supervise kitchen tasks when the Culinary Services Director is unavailable, contributing to a safe and enjoyable dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• ServeSafe certification is a plus and compliance with food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and aligned with diet orders and recipes.
• Adhere to all food safety/sanitation procedures and portion control policies.
• Ensure food and supplies are available for meals planned and supervise serving carts.
• Complete leftover logs and store food properly with dating and labeling.
• Attend onboarding and annual training, and participate in team meetings as requested.
