Job summary

Discovery Village Palm Beach Gardens is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. You will perform daily cleaning, laundry, and related tasks to promote comfort and safety in resident spaces.

The role requires strong attention to detail, reliable communication, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. Full-time, with flexible scheduling including weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
• Effective communication with residents, team members, and supervisors.
• Ability to read and follow safety rules and procedures.
• Comfort working in senior living environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties daily, weekly, and monthly across resident apartments, common areas, lounges, and offices.
• Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, and clean floors, rugs, carpets, stairways, and hallways.
• Clean, sanitize, and polish bathrooms, sinks, showers, fixtures, and dispensers.
• Dust, wash, and sanitize furniture, lamps, glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills.
• Collect trash and refuse and place in designated disposal areas.
• Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry per procedures.
• Maintain the housekeeping and laundry areas in clean, orderly condition.
• Store cleaning chemicals safely and securely when not in use.
• Keep cords, carts, and equipment out of walkways; observe safety and fire codes.
• Report maintenance issues, supply needs, or equipment concerns to supervision.
• Follow infection control practices and community policies; perform other duties as assigned.
