Job summary

Discovery Senior Living seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe living spaces for residents at our Des Moines community. This on-site role supports daily living with attention to detail and a compassionate approach.

You will follow schedules for apartments, common areas and laundry duties, with full-time and part-time options, competitive wages, benefits, and opportunities for advancement within a Great Place to Work-certified organization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of residents.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Interest in working with a senior population.
• Courteous and friendly interaction with guests, residents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties according to schedule in apartments, common areas, lounges and offices.
• Sweeps, dusts, mops, vacuums and maintains clean floors and hallways.
• Cleans, sanitizes and polishes lavatories and fixtures; stocks supplies.
• Changes and maintains laundry in community areas and units.
• Ensures cords and equipment do not block exits and reports repairs as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
