Job summary

Somerset Court at University Place, a premier senior living community, is seeking a Life Enrichment Coordinator to design and lead a dynamic activity calendar promoting social engagement and well-being for residents. You will develop holistic programs, collaborate with families and staff, and tailor memory care activities for cognitive support.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Certified Activity Director (ADC) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is a plus; must obtain within 9 months.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience planning and facilitating activities in a senior living, healthcare, or recreational setting.
• Experience working with individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments preferred.
• Strong creativity, organizational, and event-planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire participation in diverse activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Program Development & Implementation: plan, coordinate, and execute activities and events tailored to residents.
• Incorporate physical, cognitive, social, creative, spiritual, and recreational activities for holistic wellbeing.
• Develop monthly activity calendars that are engaging and diverse.
• Resident Engagement: build relationships to ensure meaningful, inclusive programs.
• Memory Care Programming: design activities for residents with dementia; focus on cognitive stimulation.
• Volunteer & Community Partnerships: recruit, train, and manage volunteers; build external ties.
• Event Planning: organize holidays, family gatherings, and intergenerational activities.
• Documentation & Compliance: maintain records of participation, schedules, and evaluations.
• Team Collaboration: work with care, dining, and leadership to integrate activities into culture.
