Job summary

Spring Arbor Living in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Full-Time Driver / Maintenance Assistant to transport residents safety, assist with light maintenance, and support Activities. Cross-trained to help when not driving, you’ll contribute to a welcoming, active senior living community.

Responsibilities include coordinating transportation, assisting with mobility, and performing basic upkeep while collaborating with the Maintenance Director and Activities team. CDL needed only if applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• Previous driving or transportation experience preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is a plus.
• Basic handyman or maintenance skills helpful, but not required.
• Friendly, patient, dependable, and safety-conscious.
• Comfortable assisting residents with mobility needs.
• Must meet applicable background screening and company Drug-Free Workplace requirements.
• CDL required only if applicable to the vehicle being operated.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, shopping, errands, and community outings.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
• Help with walkers, bags, and personal belongings as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable community vehicle.
• Perform routine vehicle safety checks and report concerns.
• Help coordinate daily transportation schedules.
• Provide friendly, dependable service to residents.
• When transportation is not scheduled, you'll help with minor repairs, painting, and general building upkeep.
• Basic maintenance and groundskeeping projects.
• Setting up furniture and equipment for events.
• Assisting with resident activities, outings, and special events.
• Supporting the Maintenance Director and Activities team as needed.
