Job summary

Buckner Retirement Services Community is seeking a Culinary Server in Fort Worth, TX, onsite. You will play a key role in serving residents, delivering hospitality, and supporting Buckner's standards of quality and service.

Responsibilities include menu knowledge, accurate order taking, teamwork, and maintaining cleanliness. Training and a food handler’s certificate are required to meet Buckner and governing authorities’ standards.

Qualifications

We are seeking a Culinary Server to join our community, committed to delivering outstanding service to our residents. As a Culinary Server, you will play an important role in all phases of serving that meet or exceed Buckner's quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

• Possesses great guest relations and communication skills.
• Deliver hospitality, enhance every guest experience.
• Be able to navigate through the menu and describe featured menu items. Demonstrate extensive menu knowledge.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders. Be able to send orders to the kitchen accurately via the point-of-sale system. Partner with all associates to serve food and beverages promptly.
• Responsible for all side-work duties assigned and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all dining areas, and some kitchen areas.
• Work successfully as part of a team.
• Receive and store groceries, frozen food, produce, etc.; date and rotate canned goods.
• Detect, correct or report situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents or others.
• Observe and report resident symptoms, reactions, and changes

What you’ll bring:

• Completes and meets required training and certification requirements of Buckner and governing authorities; e.g. food handler’s certificate.
• Requires ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.
• Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.
• Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others.
• Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
• Requires ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
• Requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, walk over 75% of shift.
• Requires ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operation problems or safety concerns.
• Requires ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.
• Requires ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in vicinity and ability to cooperate and work with other employees
