Job summary

Cedarbrook Senior Living is seeking a dynamic Lead Server to support daily meal services for residents and guests in a senior living community. You will oversee dining room operations, ensure high service standards, and train staff to maintain professionalism and safety.

Ideal candidates bring experience in senior living or healthcare settings, knowledge of clinical diets, and a commitment to excellent resident experiences.

Qualifications

• Assists with executing daily meal services for all residents and guests.
• Responsible for daily room services as well as all dining room operations.
• Receives and resolves complaints concerning dining room service immediately in conjunction with the Dining Service Manager, Executive Chef/Director of Dining Services.
• Ensures proper server and training for maximum productivity and high standards control.
• Diligent with dining room team members to ensure proper uniform including name tag and safety shoes.
• Plans daily dining room set-up, sections, service and side-work based on resident meal counts.
• Follows up to ensure all tasks completed to maintain a like-new appearance.
• Ensures team members attend service lineup and department in-service meetings.
• Ensures a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule is being completed; reports deficiencies with maintenance concerns.
• Assists with training, supervision, counseling and discipline of dining team members.
• Provide server training and follow up to maintain a professional workforce.
• Ensure all services to residents are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner.
• Ensure a safe work environment and attitude among team members in areas of responsibility.
• Working knowledge of the industry including clinical diets.
• Basic knowledge of safety and sanitation.
• Professional communication skills including verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Must be self-motivated, organized and able to problem solve situations.
• Senior living or healthcare experience preferred; fine dining experience a plus.
• ServSafe Food Handlers Certification preferred.
• ServSafe Michigan Allergen Certification preferred.
