Bayberry-Commons in Springfield, Oregon is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion standards while ensuring safety and quality in a healthcare setting.

You will work with a collaborative team to accommodate dietary needs, present food attractively, and maintain kitchen cleanliness, following infection-control practices and Mosaic standards. This role supports residents with compassionate service and consistent meal quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of cook experience in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Ability to prepare a variety of foods skillfully and efficiently.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift 40-50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Prior experience working with therapeutic or specialized diets.
• ServSafe, Food Handlers or equivalent food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Service according to menus, recipes, and portion standards.
• Ensure meals are prepared safely, on time, and at proper serving temperatures.
• Accommodate resident dietary needs, including special diets, allergies, and texture modifications.
• Present food attractively and consistently, following Mosaic dining standards.
• Assist with plating, garnishing, and serving during peak dining times.
• Provide courteous, respectful, and personalized service to residents and guests.
• Kitchen cleanliness & sanitation; follow cleaning schedules and infection control standards.
