Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL, seeks a Dietary Supervisor to assure meals meet standardized recipes and special diets, while supporting the Health Center Dietitian and providing courteous, high-quality service to residents.

You will supervise Health Center dietary staff, develop menus, manage supplies, and train staff to maintain nutritious, appealing meals in a caring, resident-focused dining program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Two years of supervisory experience in health-care food service.
• Certified in safety and sanitation for food service.
• Experience in a long-term health care environment preferred.
• Ability to communicate with residents, families, peers, and staff.
• Ability to interpret menus and coordinate meal service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and supervision of Health Center dietary staff.
• Assist in developing all menus and standardized recipes for Health Center residents.
• Determine amount and type of food and supplies, place orders, and ensure timely procurement.
• Provide on-the-job training for Health Center dietary staff.
• Develop work assignments for dietary staff and spot-check performance to meet standards.
• Ensure completion of hall trays and accuracy.
• Coordinate with the dietitian for unplanned or special therapeutic diets.
• Assure meal tallies are accurate daily.
• Assign cleaning schedules daily.
