Job summary

Colonial Oaks Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our nutrition team and help deliver nutritious, tasty meals to residents.

This full-time role offers a new wage scale and a competitive benefits package, including Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401K, and paid life insurance. You will prepare meals according to recipes, supervise Dining Aides, and ensure safety and cleanliness in the dining area.

Qualifications

• UnderstandDining Services procedures and practices.
• Follow oral, written and verbal instructions; function independently when needed.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to read recipes and menus.
• Willing to work for residents' best interests and facility.
• Maintain personal integrity and tact with residents, family, visitors and staff.
• Work harmoniously with Dining Services and facility personnel.
• Prioritize tasks according to standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve attractive meals according to recipes and menus.
• Ensure proper portioning and serving of foods.
• Record daily temperatures.
• Direct and supervise Dining Aides when needed.
• Have meals ready on time and start service promptly.
• Visit residents to gather meal feedback.
• Follow temperature and hygiene regulations in food handling.
• Clean and maintain food service equipment after use; follow cleaning schedules.
• Ensure supplies are replenished in work areas.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Open kitchen and start equipment when needed.
• Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents' information.
