Job summary

The Waters of Smyrna is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in preparing meals under the guidance of a dietary manager or cook, and to maintain sanitary dining and kitchen areas for our senior residents.

Responsibilities include setting up tables, cleaning dishes, following safety procedures, and working closely with dietary and kitchen staff to ensure timely, safe meal service in a supportive, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines to maintain hygienic dining areas.
• Ability to work cooperatively with dietary and kitchen staff.
• Strong communication skills for resident interactions and team coordination.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, and carrying items.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables and dining areas with cleanliness and order.
• Prepare meals under the guidance of a dietary manager or cook, ensuring safety.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures at all times.
• Work effectively as part of a team to serve residents promptly.
• Assist in post-meal cleanup by clearing dining areas and collecting plates and utensils.
• Maintain hygiene by disposing of leftovers and taking out garbage.
• Keep food stations clean, wash dishes and cooking equipment.
• Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with inventory.
• Contribute to upkeep of kitchen equipment and appliances.
