Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and infection control practices.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred; one year experience as a cook in institutional food service preferred or acceptable exemption required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises culinary staff regarding food storage, food preparation, tray assembly, and cleaning.
• Follows standardized recipes and prepares foods according to menu cycles developed by Registered Dietitians.
• Cooks meals in quantities that meet proper temperatures and time frames.
• Operates institutional food preparation equipment and maintains cleaning schedules.
• Inspects trays after meal service and reports findings to the Certified Dietary Manager.
