Job summary

Arrowleaf in Vienna, IL is seeking a part-time Cook (20 hours/week) to handle food preparation for the Autumn Ridge Supportive Living program, ensuring meals meet state guidelines and dietary requirements. You will work under the Dining Services Manager and support residents with courteous service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of geriatrics and dietary requirements.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment.
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large numbers.
• Ability to relate to senior adults; strong written and oral communication skills; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes the dining room, kitchen, storage area and dietary equipment as needed.
• Prepares and cooks food in accordance with state food and nutrition guidelines.
• Monitors food temperatures prior to meal service.
• Records temperatures of food according to established policy and procedure.
• Ensures that an adequate supply of food and supplies is available at all times; reports inadequate stock levels.
• Follows recipes for planned weekly menu; ensures proper quantities and timing.
• Labels, dates and stores food properly according to policies.
• Responds to residents, provides follow-up, and keeps supervisor informed.
