Discovery Senior Living in Newark, DE is seeking a Cook to enrich the lives of residents through exceptional culinary experiences. You’ll prepare meals following our menu cycle and standardized recipes, while ensuring residents feel cared for with the food you make.

You’ll maintain a safe, clean kitchen and work with a warm, home-like dining atmosphere. Weekend availability and the ability to work part-time or full-time shift options are valued as part of our team.

Qualificações

• Experience in senior living or a similar environment preferred.
• Knowledge of production methods, portion control, and food safety/handling required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
• High attention to detail, especially in presentation and plating.
• Availability to work weekends as part of the regular schedule.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare a variety of hot and cold menu items, including work on the grill, sauté station, salad bar, and service line.
• Follow standardized recipes to ensure proper preparation, portioning, taste, and presentation of food.
• Taste and check food for quality, palatability, and adherence to culinary standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all food preparation and service areas.
• Support a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment in accordance with food safety and handling guidelines, including maintaining temperature logs, overseeing food storage and date maintenance.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to create an exceptional dining experience for residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
