Covina Court Senior Living is seeking a dependable Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for residents at Covina Court Senior Living. This part-time position covers Saturday and Sunday shifts and requires attention to dietary needs and food safety.

Ideal candidates have prior cooking experience in care settings, follow recipes precisely, and collaborate with the care team to support residents’ nutrition and well-being.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook, preferably in assisted living, senior care, healthcare, restaurant, or institutional food service.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate and respectful when interacting with senior residents.
• Food Handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain as required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry kitchen supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, flavorful, and presented appropriately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures.
• Accommodate special diets, allergies, and resident preferences as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
• Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food and ingredients.
• Work closely with the care team to ensure residents' dietary needs are met.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
