Job summary

Northgate Park in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a cook with at least 1 year of cooking experience in a senior living environment to join our compassionate dining team. The Cook reports to the Dining Services Director and will prepare nutritious meals that meet safety standards and resident preferences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years cooking experience, healthcare or hospitality preferred.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food items using high quality ingredients.
• Record and monitor food temperatures during storage, preparation, and serving.
• Label, date, and properly store all foods.
• Monitor temperatures of refrigerators and freezers daily.
• Control overproduction and waste of food items.
• Follow established safety procedures and sanitation standards.
• Wash and sanitize kitchen equipment.
• General cleaning of the cook’s area and storage spaces.
• Report equipment and safety issues to the Food Service Director.
• Work as a team to maintain a pleasant work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
