Job summary

Life Enriching Communities is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our senior living community kitchen in Cincinnati. You will follow established recipes, ensure food safety, and coordinate with meal times to deliver high-quality meals for residents.

The role requires at least 18 years old, some high school, and 1+ year in related food service; Serv Safe certification is preferred. Full-time schedule is 12:00pm–8:00pm, including some weekends, with competitive benefits and a supportive team

Qualifications

• Some High School
• Prior experience in related food service position required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must possess a customer service background and orientation
• A minimum of 1 year related experience in continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant or similar facility as a Line Cook is preferred
• Serv Safe Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares food served using established production procedures and recipes.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
• Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
• Set steam table and station; servers or ensures proper serving of food in dining room, nursing unit, salad bar and associate food line if applicable
• Follows all HACCP protocols and complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
• Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item. Maintains storage areas.
• Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders. Preps food as necessary.
• Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
• Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation. Reports necessary necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor
• Completes food temperature checks before service.
