Job summary

Simpson is seeking an experienced Cook for its Senior Living facility in West Grove, PA. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents, collaborating with the culinary team to meet dietary needs and preferences across independent living, assisted living, and personal care options.

You will manage menu planning, food preparation, dietary accommodations, and kitchen operations while upholding safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma. 3 years of cooking experience in a similar environment.
• Experience in senior living or healthcare is preferred.
• SERV Safe certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Menu Planning with culinary team to meet nutritional needs and preferences.
• Food Preparation following recipes and portion sizes; ensure proper temperature and presentation.
• Dietary accommodations: modify recipes for restrictions (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, pureed).
• Kitchen management: inventory control, ordering supplies, proper storage to minimize waste.
• Resident interaction during meal service; address concerns and create welcoming dining experiences.
• Team collaboration with sous chefs, line cooks, and servers; assist in training.
• Gather feedback to improve menus; consider resident preferences and dietary guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and document temperature logs and sanitation schedules.
