Job summary

Hawks Ridge - Hood River , OR is seeking a Cook to join our senior living community. The role involves meal preparation, delivery, and maintaining a clean, compliant kitchen under health regulations.

You will contribute to a positive environment for elders, families, and staff while supporting the Dining Services Director. Ideal candidates will have culinary training or equivalent experience, love working in teams, and demonstrate strong organization and communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Formally trained in culinary arts or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Food handler permit or ability to obtain one as required by state regulations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals under the guidance of Dining Services Director.
• Ensure meals are nutritious and attractively presented.
• Assist in orienting new team members and scheduling.
• Greet elders, families, visitors, and team members in a friendly environment.
• Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean, safe, and orderly.
• Adhere to infection control and foodborne illness prevention procedures.
