Job summary

The Parc at Sharon Amity in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for residents in our senior living community.

You will follow menu plans, maintain food safety standards, collaborate with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff, and help train new team members. This role emphasizes compassion for residents and attention to portion control, presentation, and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutrition, appetizing meals and adherence to dietary requirements.
• Serve meals in a timely manner with quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen per food safety procedures.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new kitchen staff.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages or order needs.
• Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ preferences.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
