Job summary

The Rivers, a Transforming Age community in Burnsville, Minnesota, is hiring a Cook/Kitchen Manager to prepare meals that meet dietary needs for our residents. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and supporting staff in service delivery.

You will collaborate with dining services to create nutritious menus, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure food safety compliance. Experience in senior living is a plus; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef/Kitchen Manager in a senior living community is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.
• Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
• Successful completion of recognized food safety course.
• First Aid training and CPR training may be required in certain state/local jurisdictions.
• Completion of a background check; drug screen, physical, TB test, and fingerprinting may be needed per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious food that meets a variety of dietary needs and preferences for our Rivers residents.
• Help maintain orderly kitchen.
• Ensure kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling.
• May occasionally assist with hiring, orientation, training, and evaluation of kitchen staff.
• Assist with supervising utility and FOH staff as needed.
• Create a motivating environment that encourages team members to be involved, creative, and problem solving.
• Perform other duties as assigned
