Job summary

American Senior Communities is hiring a Cook for Hickory Creek at Huntington, IN. This on-site role in a healthcare setting involves preparing nutritious meals, following recipes, and leading kitchen tasks to ensure sanitation and safety standards are met.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (or 1–3 years related experience). Preferred certifications in sanitation and prior institutional/healthcare service experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 years related experience.
• Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification preferred.
• Prior institutional/healthcare service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares meals meeting residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares meals in quantities needed.
• Leads kitchen staff in food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during service.
• Handles, stores and disposes of food per procedures and regulations.
