Job summary

Discovery Senior Living in Alexandria, LA is seeking a Cook to join our team. You will prepare hot and cold menu items across the grill, sauté station, salad-bar and service line, ensuring proper preparation, portioning and serving according to recipes and standards. No previous senior living experience is required for many positions and on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Senior Living preferred.
• Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required.
• Great organizational skills a must.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be able to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items on grill, sauté station, salad-bar and service line.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods per menu cycle and recipes.
• Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability.
