Job summary

Window's Cafe, located inside an Independent Living community in Dearborn, MI, is seeking a friendly Cafeteria Associate to provide excellent service to residents and prepare simple meals. You will work with the dining services team to ensure a positive dining experience.

The role involves greeting residents, handling the cash register, and maintaining a clean café area while following safety guidelines. Prior experience is nice but training is available.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, food service, or customer service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Friendly, patient, and professional with older adults.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable with excellent attendance.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Food Handler certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Operate the cash register and accurately process resident purchases.
• Prepare and serve light meals, sandwiches, soups, salads, and other menu items.
• Restock food, beverages, and supplies throughout the day.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary café and kitchen area.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Work as part of the dining services team to ensure excellent customer service.
