Job summary

Pines Village Continuing Care Retirement Community in Manchester Township, NJ is seeking a compassionate, energetic Full-Time Activity Assistant to enhance the lives of residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. You will plan and coordinate engaging recreational, cognitive, and wellness activities to promote independence and dignity.

The role requires a passion for older adults, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with nursing staff, families, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in activity programming in care settings preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; resident-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement daily activity programs for Assisted Living residents.
• Lead group and individual activities to support well-being across physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual aspects.
• Coordinate special events, entertainment, holidays, and community outings.
• Encourage resident participation and foster a welcoming environment.
• Develop and publish monthly activity calendars.
• Maintain activity records and required documentation.
• Collaborate with nursing, families, volunteers, and other departments to meet resident needs.
• Assist with transporting or accompanying residents to activities and events when needed.
