Job summary

Elmwood Hills Healthcare Center is seeking a positive, upbeat Activity Assistant to join our team. You will plan, organize, and lead social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to enrich residents’ quality of life.

Responsibilities include leading arts, crafts, music, trivia, and exercise sessions, plus assisting with sensory stimulation and feeding when needed. Prioritizes compassionate, resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Positive, upbeat attitude and passion for working with seniors.
• Ability to work every other weekend and some holidays.
• Comfortable with geriatric population.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging activities for LTC residents and Dementia Unit.
• Lead group activities including arts, crafts, music, sing-alongs, trivia, games, and exercise sessions.
• Encourage participation and provide individualized attention; assist with sensory stimulation.
• May assist with feeding residents at meal times when required.
