Job summary

Elderwood is seeking a compassionate Activity Leader to plan and run engaging recreational programs for residents. You will collaborate with the Director of Activities to create a stimulating schedule and tailor events to residents’ needs.

Strong communication and organizational skills are required, with a focus on safety, documentation, and building positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 yrs. age, HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Ability to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Activities in planning and carrying out the activity program.
• Approaches residents to plan individual activities; reports on response and cooperation.
• Prepares resident information for care planning and documents progress notes.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies for the activities department.
• Keeps attendance records and prepares routine reports.
