Job summary

Elderwood in Rochester, NY is seeking a compassionate Activity Leader to plan and run engaging recreation programs that keep residents energized and socially connected.

You will work with the Director of Activities to tailor activities, build relationships with residents and families, and maintain program records. Must be 18+, HS diploma, NY driver's license, and able to read, write, and speak English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old and HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to develop relationships with staff, families and visitors.
• Ability to inspire and motivate others and adapt activities.
• Understanding of residents' rights and needs.
• Physical stamina for constant activity.
• English language proficiency at intermediate level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Activities in planning and carrying out the activity program.
• Approaches residents on assigned unit to plan individual recreational and social activities; reports to Director about response and cooperation.
• Prepares resident information for use in care planning and documentation; writes progress notes as assigned.
• Assists in developing and maintaining good contact with community resources for the activities program.
• Responsible for maintaining departmental inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Maintains attendance records and prepares other reports as required.
