Job summary

Caretta Senior Living of Eau Claire is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support planning and leading a variety of activity programs for residents’ social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs.

The role involves assisting the Activity Coordinator, assessing residents’ recreational needs, helping develop the monthly calendar, and leading group and one-on-one activities with seniors, while coordinating transportation and supervising volunteers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
• Assess residents recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
• Research and recommend to Coordinator entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc.
• Support coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures. Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.
• Maintain the bus interior and exterior.
• Report maintenance needs in timely manner.
