Heritage Woods of Watseka is seeking a Temporary Activity Director to lead the activity team and oversee the development and implementation of engaging recreation programs for residents. The role emphasizes collaboration with residents, families, staff, and the local community.

The successful candidate will design monthly calendars, manage transportation, and mentor staff while maintaining a high standard of care aligned with our values of love, compassion, and dignity for all residents.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Must hold valid driver’s license.
• Minimum age of 21 years or older preferred with driving record in good standing.
• Prior activities/life enrichment experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Leadership skills and readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads the Activity team and provides guidance and support for resident activities and events.
• Designs and facilitates recreational and social programs to promote participation by residents, families, staff and community.
• Develops a monthly activities calendar tailored to residents’ abilities and interests and documents participation.
• Oversees budget and implements a cost-effective activities program and inventories equipment and supplies.
• Manages the Community transportation program, including driving the company van for outings.
• Coaches and coordinates the Resident Council to strengthen resident engagement.
• Coordinates the Community newsletter reflecting the mission and values.
• Continuously assesses program impact and adjusts offerings to meet evolving resident needs.
