Waterview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Director of Activities in planning and implementing a diverse calendar of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.

You will encourage participation, adapt activities to individual interests, and provide meaningful engagement both in group settings and one-on-one. A patient, compassionate, and team-oriented approach is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with seniors in healthcare or related settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Patience, compassion and enthusiasm for elderly care are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting a calendar of daily/weekly resident activities.
• Lead or assist with activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, movement, and cultural events.
• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who prefer individual activities.
• Support resident participation in activities aligned with care plans and safety procedures.
• Maintain activity spaces, supplies, and documentation in accordance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with nursing, social services, and rehabilitation teams to ensure resident-centered care.
