Job summary

Northbridge Communities is seeking an Activity Assistant to work with the Engagement Director in creating engaging programs for residents. You will plan and lead activities that support physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, contributing to a vibrant community life.

You will connect with residents to tailor experiences, arrange outside trips when appropriate, and help maintain records. A high school diploma is required, with extra coursework in recreation or gerontology a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in recreation or gerontology is a plus.
• Enjoy connecting with seniors and can get along naturally.
• Creative and able to plan and lead activities for different interests and abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and kindness.
• Flexible to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run activities like exercise programs, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents to tailor activities to their interests and needs.
• Plan trips outside the community and ensure residents are safe and happy.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents can socialize and discover new interests.
• Keep records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share ideas to keep programs exciting and senior-focused.
