Job summary

Northbridge Communities is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Engagement Director in creating enjoyable, meaningful experiences for residents. This role focuses on physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being within a vibrant community.

You will help plan and run a variety of activities, connect personally with residents, and assist with trips while maintaining safety and a welcoming atmosphere. Flexible scheduling and part-time hours offered.

Qualifications

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.
• Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Be creative and able to plan and lead activities for varied interests.
• Organize well and pay attention to details.
• Communicate effectively and be kind.
• Be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run activities with the Engagement Director, including exercise programs, sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers/music.
• Connect with residents personally to tailor activities to their preferences.
• Help plan trips outside the community and ensure safety and happiness.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents make friends and discover new interests.
• Keep records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep programs exciting and aligned with seniors' interests.
