Westfield Senior Housing is seeking an energetic Recreation/Activities Coordinator to lead engaging programs that enrich residents' lives. You will plan, organize, and execute activities tailored to seniors, fostering a vibrant community and well-being through creative programming.

This paid, full-time role involves coordinating diverse programs, coordinating volunteers, and promoting resident involvement while collaborating with kitchen staff and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in recreational therapy or similar preferred.
• Experience in activity planning with older adults preferred.
• Experience and interest in working with older adults.
• Evidence of creativity.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Mature, pleasant, friendly and cheerful personality.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities across physical, social, recreational, intellectual, creative, entertainment, service/volunteering and special requests.
• Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities.
• Promote activities to pique residents' interest.
• Lead activities as needed.
• Decorate facility for events, seasons and holidays.
• Identify and requisition needed supplies for planned activities.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff for use of kitchen.
• Assist with planning and implementing marketing events to promote the facility.
• Develop a monthly newsletter and solicit resident involvement.
• Coordinate schedule for the company vehicle.
• Maintain a schedule for use of common areas.
• Arrange transportation for outings and group trips.
• Recruit and train resident volunteers; carry out recognition program.
• Maintain and update closed circuit TV system.
• Meet new tenants within 2 weeks of move-in to review interests.
• Maintain statistics of program attendance and prepare reports; prepare monthly expenditure report.
• Schedule annual safety meetings; attend staff meetings.
