Job summary

Glastonbury Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant for per diem coverage. You will plan and run recreational and therapeutic activities to create a lively, compassionate environment for aging residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long-Term Care or senior living preferred but not required; training provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic by nature.
• Interest in therapeutic needs of the aged and chronically ill.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of activities for residents.
• Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other programs.
• Develop and implement a monthly activities calendar with the director.
• Provide one-on-one support for residents needing extra help.
• Foster community and social interaction among residents.
• Document and maintain records of residents' participation.
