Job summary

Glastonbury Center for Health & Rehabilitation, affiliated with National Health Care Associates, invites you to join our team as a Recreation Assistant for per diem needs in Glastonbury, CT. You will plan and implement recreational and therapeutic activities to benefit residents.

You will collaborate with the Activities Director to create monthly calendars, support residents one-on-one, and document participation while contributing to a warm, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic nature.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents.
• Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar.
• Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance.
• Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents.
• Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities.

Recreation Assistant for Per Diem Needs

What You'll Do

As an Activities Assistant, you have a crucial role in planning and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities. Your creative ideas and enthusiasm will contribute to fostering a positive and lively atmosphere for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Rate of Pay

USD $18.75 - USD $19.50 /Hr.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications of an Activities Assistant include:

• Previous experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required - training will be provided
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
