Job summary

Hartford HealthCare, The Orchards of Southington, is seeking a Director of Activities/Recreation Therapy to develop, implement and lead programs that engage residents and maximize participation.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will manage staff and programs with budgetary and reporting responsibilities, ensuring quality of life in a senior living setting.

Strong leadership, communication and budget skills are required, along with proficiency in MS Office and a passion for elder care.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people leadership experience (hiring, training, coaching, performance management).
• 3+ years of activities program management experience.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with previous budgetary responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and conducts programs which appeal to resident interests and will maximize their participation and enhance quality of life.
• Manages programs and staff (van drivers, front desk, recreation coordinator) with budgetary and reporting responsibility.
