Job summary

Blakehurst Senior Living in Towson, MD is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to plan and coordinate meaningful activities for residents. The role supports physical, mental and social well-being, with a 4:00am–8:00pm shift window available across a 3-day per week schedule in the Comprehensive Care Unit.

You will work with a supportive team in a Life Plan Community on a 40-acre campus, providing meaningful engagement and daily assistance to residents.

Qualifications

• Six months experience working with seniors in activities or life enrichment.
• Ability to design, plan and facilitate resident activities.
• Strong observation skills to tailor programs to needs and interests.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and facilitate structured and impromptu programs for individuals and groups.
• Escort residents on trips and ensure safety during outings.
• Monitor resident needs and adjust activities accordingly.
• Prepare program supplies and maintain equipment safety and operation.
• Record attendance and progress notes, update care plans and MDS docs.
• Contribute to calendars, staff scheduling, and team discussions.
