Job summary

Blakehurst is a Life Plan Community in Towson, MD, serving over 300 seniors. We seek a Part-time Recreation Assistant to plan, schedule and coordinate activities that support residents’ physical, mental, and social well-being, in common areas and resident rooms.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree is preferred. Six months of experience with seniors in activities is preferred. The role offers part-time hours, generous PTO, free onsite parking, and DailyPay.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED
• Associate’s degree preferred
• Six months experience working with seniors in activities/life enrichment preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate structured and impromptu programs for residents
• Escort residents on group trips and ensure safety
• Monitor residents' needs and tailor activities accordingly
• Prepare program supplies and maintain equipment safety
• Document assessments and program records
• Maintain attendance sheets, progress notes, care plans, and MDS documentation
• Participate in team discussions on calendars, scheduling, and resident issues
• Contribute to care conferences with residents and families regarding programming
