Job summary

Onondaga Rehab & Nursing in New York seeks an experienced Activities Director to lead the development and supervision of the residents' activities program, ensuring a wide range of individual and group activities aligned with each care plan.

The role requires coordinating monthly calendars and staffing, maintaining documentation, participating in meetings, and arranging community outings and resident events to support resident well-being and engagement.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field.
• Experience in activity programming for elderly residents preferred.
• Strong organization and documentation skills.
• Ability to plan diverse activity programs 7 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Directs the development, implementation, supervision and evaluation of the activities program.
• Plan and run activities for individuals and groups per resident plans.
• Develop monthly calendars and staffing schedules including evenings/weekends.
• Maintain documentation (MDS, assessments, care plans) and QA processes.
• Coordinate community outings, events, and resident council activities.
• Collaborate in care planning, meetings, and facility operations.
