Job summary

The Birches at Concord, part of Benchmark Senior Living, seeks a compassionate Programming/Activity Assistant to support residents with engaging daily activities. You will help plan and implement a seven-day-a-week program, assisting in one-on-one, small group, and large group sessions to meet emotional, social, and cognitive needs.

Must have a high school diploma or higher, with training in recreational activities and dementia care.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or higher and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Training and knowledge in recreational activities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s/dementias.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a seven-day-a-week activity program that is engaging.
• Lead one-on-one, small group, and large group activities.
• Support independent activity pursuits for residents.
• Consider residents' abilities and interests when planning activities.
• Encourage participation and monitor resident conditions and behavior.
• Communicate any changes to the Harbor Care Director.
• Stay with groups during excursions.
