Job summary

North Platte Valley Medical Center in Saratoga, WY, is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our Extended Care team. You will help plan, organize, and lead recreational and therapeutic activities designed to enrich residents’ lives and promote well-being.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, supporting outings, creating activity calendars, maintaining supplies, and documenting progress. CNA and BLS certifications are required or obtainable, with some evenings and weekends expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with seniors/healthcare or recreational/therapeutic activities preferred.
• CNA certification and BLS required (or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license requested.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading group and one-on-one activities.
• Escort and support residents during outings, community events, and social gatherings.
• Help create monthly activity calendars and update schedules as needed.
• Maintain activity supplies and keep spaces safe, clean, and welcoming.
• Encourage resident involvement while respecting individual abilities, interests, and needs.
• Document participation and assist with resident progress notes.
• Provide input at care plan meetings as requested.
• Collaborate with nursing and other departments to enhance resident quality of life.
