Montefiore Einstein Transplant Center is seeking a senior liver transplant surgeon for our busy liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgery program, who would qualify as UNOS liver transplant surgical director.
Montefiore Health System is a large University based health care system in NY with three tertiary care hospitals, a Children’s Hospital, and multiple regional affiliates and clinics. The Transplant Center of Excellence includes solid organ programs in adult and pediatric liver transplant, pediatric and adult kidney transplant, pancreas transplant, lung transplant, live donor liver and kidney, and pediatric and adult heart transplant. The liver transplant program has been at the forefront of innovation including early adoption of perfusion devices for liver preservation, split liver grafts, and advanced hepatobiliary surgery. The program has a large academically oriented hepatology practice with 9 transplant hepatologists, 2 adult Hepatology fellows (one ACGME approved), 2 ASTS transplant surgery fellows, and a dedicated liver medicine service supported by medicine house staff, hospitalists and PA’s. The current Department consists of 4 transplant PA/NPs, 2 clinic LPNs and 1 Hepatology NP. The program supervises multidisciplinary clinics and tumor boards for liver cancer in collaboration with Montefiore’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Transplant Surgery Division performs a large volume of hepatobiliary surgical cases.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable technical expertise in liver transplant surgery, leadership skills, a track record of academic achievement, and at least five years post Fellowship experience. Faculty appointment and rank in the Department of Surgery and Albert Einstein College of Medicine will be commensurate with the applicant’s record of achievement.
In addition to a competitive salary of $400,000-700,000, we offer productivity incentives (wRVU), paid malpractice, CME with stipend, 403(b) and 457 tax shelters, LTD, STD, health, dental, vision and much more.
