Considine Search seeks a Litigation Technology Senior Specialist for its Washington, DC office to lead the end-to-end electronic discovery and litigation support lifecycle. You will manage data collection, processing, review, production, and trial support while mentoring analysts and coordinating with IT and compliance teams.

You will leverage Relativity, RelativityOne, and Case Notebook to design databases, load files, and run complex queries, ensuring accuracy, defensibility, and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 10 years of law firm or litigation support service provider experience required.
  • Relativity Expertise — extensive, hands-on admin, customization, optimization, and troubleshooting of Relativity workspaces.
  • Relativity Processing — extensive knowledge of configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Relativity Processing workflows.
  • Relativity Production Management — oversee all production workflows in Relativity, ensuring accuracy and metadata integrity.
  • Relativity Analytics — deploy and manage analytics tools to speed review and cut costs.
  • AI Awareness — strong understanding of AI offerings used by top law firms, including generative AI and TAR.
  • EDRM Knowledge — solid understanding of the EDRM model and its application.
  • Consultative Guidance — advise case teams at all litigation stages with data scoping, review planning, and production readiness.
  • Strategic Matter Support — translate legal objectives into technical workflows and cost-effective solutions.

Job description

A premier, global law firm is seeking a Litigation Technology Senior Specialist for their Washington, DC office. This position is responsible for providing high-level practice technology support to the litigation group in the DC office, with an expectation to support other practices and offices as needed. The successful candidate must be able to manage the full life cycle of electronic discovery and litigation support projects, including data collection, data processing and analysis, document review, production, and trial/arbitration support.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate project status to relevant parties, monitor deadlines, assist in the allocation of resources, and preemptively identify potential issues.
  • Provide user support to case teams with items such as search, retrieval, and litigation support database assistance.
  • Provide training to attorneys and legal assistants on litigation support systems and electronic discovery best practices.
  • Adhere to department best practices regarding data processing, loading, review, and production.
  • Create and design databases for attorneys. Load electronic documents (images, metadata, native files, transcripts, videos, etc.) into databases for attorney review using systems including Relativity, RelativityOne, and Case Notebook.
  • Create and manipulate various load file types and reports using MS Access and other database tools. Create and modify complex queries and modules (Visual Basic, SQL, etc.). Experience with Command Prompt (cmd).
  • Customize document review designation panes, views, and workflows for attorneys. Perform complex database searches and reports. Prepare, create, and manage electronic document productions in Relativity or RelativityOne. Perform comprehensive review designation checks for potential conflicts. Quality check productions and ensure required specifications are met.
  • Serve as the Litigation Technology main point of contact on assigned matters and manage the full litigation support and electronic discovery lifecycle, including ESI preservation, collection, processing and analysis, review, production, and trial support.
  • Manage large and complex eDiscovery matters requiring advanced project management experience and technical expertise. Counsel attorneys on litigation support and electronic discovery best practices.
  • Coordinate with external electronic discovery service providers. Develop project plans and cost estimates for attorneys and clients. Adhere to vendor engagement, SOW, and invoice protocols.
  • Actively partner with attorneys, legal assistants, case managers, and other personnel to support matters.
  • Troubleshoot litigation technology systems and databases. Provide assistance with complex database searches and queries, print projects, and reports. Coordinate system upgrades and server migrations with IT. Maintain media inventory database (chain of custody). Create and copy media. Set up department laptops and install and configure applications as needed.
  • Process ESI using in-house processing tools such as Relativity and RelativityOne, including de-duplication, culling and filtering, text and metadata extraction, OCRing non-searchable files, tiff conversion, error and exception handling, and quality control.
  • Assist with the development of department documentation and presentations. Assist with the enhancement of guidelines and procedures to ensure efficient workflow while maintaining high quality control standards.
  • Provide technology support at depositions and trials (set up Real-Time Connections, trial war rooms, presentation systems, etc.). Coordinate Litigation Technology equipment setups, systems, and logistics for trials.
  • Assist in mentoring analysts to ensure comprehensive knowledge across all roles within the department.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications

  • Relativity Expertise — Extensive, hands-on experience administering, customizing, optimizing, and troubleshooting Relativity workspaces, including advanced analytics, dtSearch, structured analytics, productions, and workspace governance.
  • Relativity Processing — Extensive knowledge of configuring, executing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Relativity Processing workflows, including ingestion settings, error resolution, exception handling, metadata validation, and ensuring defensible, complete processing of diverse data types.
  • Relativity Production Management — Ability to oversee all production workflows in Relativity, ensuring accuracy, completeness, metadata integrity, and compliance with specifications.
  • Relativity Analytics — Ability to deploy and manage analytics tools (email threading, clustering, near-duplicates, active learning/TAR) to accelerate review and reduce costs.
  • AI Awareness — Strong understanding of current AI offerings used by top law firms, including generative AI, semantic search, predictive analytics, and AI-assisted review tools.
  • AI-Enhanced Review — Ability to advise attorneys on integrating AI (TAR 2.0, active learning, clustering, summarization engines) into review workflows.
  • EDRM Knowledge — Strong understanding of the EDRM model and its application across matter lifecycles.
  • Consultative Guidance — Ability to advise and provide a consultative approach to case teams at every stage of litigation, including early case assessment, data scoping, preservation strategy, review planning, analytics deployment, and production readiness.
  • Strategic Matter Support — Ability to translate legal objectives into technical workflows and recommend defensible, cost-effective solutions tailored to matter complexity, deadlines, and client expectations.
  • Proactive Issue Identification — Ability to anticipate risks, identify workflow gaps, and propose strategic adjustments before issues impact case timelines or deliverables.
  • Case Notebook — Extensive experience with Westlaw Case Notebook preferred, or a similar transcript management platform.
  • Complex Matter Management — Prior experience managing large, complex eDiscovery matters and litigation support projects.
  • Load File and Reporting — Experience creating and manipulating load file types and reports using MS Access, ReadySuite, and other database tools.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task effectively; must be flexible with sudden changes in plans, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Dedicated team player who actively supports colleagues, shares knowledge, and contributes to a positive, collaborative department culture.
  • Works closely with IT, InfoSec, Records, Compliance, and Innovation teams to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant handling of sensitive data.

  • Relativity certifications considered a significant plus.
