Job summary

The Quest Organization seeks a Supervising Litigation Attorney in Los Angeles to lead a high-volume civil defense docket and a multi-tier legal team. You will oversee discovery, motions, and strategic directing of cases, coordinating with associates, clerks, and paralegals to meet deadlines and quality standards.

You will mentor team members, manage competing deadlines, and communicate complex case statuses to clients and senior partners, ensuring strong courtroom and negotiation outcomes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience, ideally including high-volume defense litigation.
• Demonstrated experience managing a large caseload and supervising a multi-role legal team.
• Experience with discovery motion practice, including motions to compel and terminating sanctions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a high-volume litigation caseload and manage a multi-tier legal team including associates, clerks, assistants, and paralegals.
• Supervise drafting and review of motions to compel and related discovery motions; ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules.
• Oversee scheduling and coordination of depositions and hearings; prepare attorneys for appearances.
• Develop and direct case strategy across the team’s caseload; communicate status and risk to clients and partners.
• Lead and mentor team members; manage workload, morale, and progress; de-escalate conflicts with opposing counsel.
