Job summary

The Nagler Group in Augusta, Maine is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters from case inception through trial and appeal, working closely with attorneys and clients.

This on-site, full-time role requires 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, excellent drafting, research, and organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and case management systems.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or related degree preferred, not required.
  • Knowledge of state and federal litigation procedures, court rules, and e-filing systems.
  • Excellent drafting, research, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and case management systems.
  • Strong judgment and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from intake through trial and appeal.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, settlements, trial materials, and appellate filings.
  • Coordinate discovery, including document review, eDiscovery, and production.
  • E-file documents in state and federal courts and monitor dockets and deadlines.
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
  • Prepare exhibits, witness materials, trial notebooks, deposition summaries, and hearing materials.
  • Conduct legal/factual research and organize case records and evidence.
  • Serve as a key client contact and coordinate with attorneys, courts, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain case files, litigation schedules, attorney calendars, and billable time.

Our client, a growing law firm in Augusta, Maine, is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters from case inception through trial and appeal. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation professional who is highly organized, proactive, and enjoys working closely with attorneys while serving as a key resource for clients and case teams!

Responsibilities
  • Manage litigation matters from intake through trial and appeal
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, settlements, trial materials, and appellate filings

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred, not required
  • Knowledge of state and federal litigation procedures, court rules, and electronic filing systems
  • Excellent legal drafting, research, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, document and case management
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Civil/Business Litigation, Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice, Probate/Trusts & Estate Litigation, Real Estate Litigation, Family/Divorce, Criminal Law, or Appeals
