Responsibilities

• Independently review legal documents and litigation correspondence to calculate, record and disseminate docket dates per court rules.
• Enter deadlines into Milana docketing platform and ensure accuracy.
• Support litigation teams and coordinate with docketing attorneys to meet deadlines.
• Quality review own work and escalate questions to manager or attorneys as needed.
• Assist with inter-department training on court rules and docketing practices.
• Respond to inquiries about docketed events and deadlines from litigation teams.
• Prepare and distribute regular docket reports to case teams.

How Will You Make a Difference?

• Independently review legal documents and litigation correspondence in order to accurately calculate, record, and disseminate docket dates pursuant to applicable court rules procedures, including:
  • Understanding source documents,
  • Reviewing court dockets as needed,
  • Verifying jurisdiction, court/venue, and relevant authorities, and
  • Analyzing and verifying calculated dates and adjusting for federal, state, statutory, or agency rules as well as local rules and practices.
• Accurately enter all deadlines for firm litigation matters into Milana, the firm’s litigation docketing platform.
• Provide proactive support to litigation teams and coordinate with the docketing attorneys to ensure all deadlines are docketed correctly.
• Quality review own work product according to internal department protocols and demonstrate sound judgment for escalating questions to the Litigation Docketing Manager and docketing attorneys.
• Assist with inter-department training with a particular focus on court rules research and interpretation of those rules. Quality review Docketing Specialists work product.
• Respond to inquiries from the litigation teams regarding docketed events, deadlines, and court rules.
