micro1 is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney (US) for a remote, contract engagement to support a frontier AI evaluation project involving complex commercial disputes. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality inputs.

You will seed multi-turn litigation scenarios, direct junior contributors on briefs and discovery strategy, and perform quality control as a neutral evaluator.

Qualifications

• Licensed US attorney with active or lapsed bar in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of hands-on US litigation experience, including courtroom advocacy, discovery, motion practice, and team leadership.
• Deep expertise in one or more areas among commercial contract disputes, shareholder/ LLC disputes, or commercial real estate litigation.

Responsibilities

• Seed realistic multi-turn litigation scenarios by drafting facts, parties, issues, posture, and initiating documents.
• Direct junior contributors in briefs, motions, discovery strategy documents, and demand letters with high-quality submissions.
• Conduct holistic quality control for each dispute turn as a neutral evaluator.
• Develop rubrics defining success criteria at each litigation stage for the AI pipeline.
• Identify ambiguities and procedural complexities and provide actionable feedback to the team.
• Maintain alignment with leads and peers as project specs evolve.
• Operate solely from public or synthetic materials, avoiding client-confidential information.

In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required - your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

• Seed realistic multi-turn litigation scenarios by drafting the facts, parties, legal issues, procedural posture, and initiating documents for each case.
• Direct junior legal contributors in producing briefs, motions, discovery strategy documents, and demand letters - ensuring high-quality, well-reasoned submissions.
• Conduct holistic quality control for each turn in the dispute simulation, reviewing and approving both junior and peer-level legal work as a neutral evaluator.
• Develop and refine rubrics that define success criteria at each litigation stage, translating practical expertise into clear evaluation benchmarks for the AI pipeline.
• Identify and surface ambiguities, edge cases, and procedural complexities that challenge AI performance, providing actionable feedback to the project team.
• Maintain alignment with team leads and legal peers as project specifications and scenario requirements evolve.
• Operate solely from public or synthetic materials, ensuring no use of client-confidential information throughout the engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed US attorney with active or lapsed bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of hands-on US litigation experience, including courtroom advocacy, discovery, motion practice, and case team leadership.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: commercial contract disputes, shareholder/LLC disputes, or commercial real estate litigation; experience across multiple domains is a plus.
• Fluency in the full litigation lifecycle - pleadings, discovery, motions, hearings, and resolution strategies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of formal legal drafting and adversarial reasoning.
• Proven ability to review and direct junior legal work to a high professional standard without needing to redraft personally.
• Adaptability to a fast-evolving, remote-first project environment and collaborative calibration with diverse legal experts.

Compensation Structure

Compensation is output-based; experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. Experts must submit a minimum of tasks per week.
