This position focuses on high-exposure casualty and personal injury matters and construction litigation, with responsibility for managing a case load, developing strategy, and meeting billable hour requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas State Bar in good standing.
• 8+ years of general casualty litigation experience.
• Experience handling complex personal injury casualty matters.
• Proven ability to manage billable hour requirements.
• Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Independent with strong organization and case management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop case strategy including early assessment, motions, discovery, and trial prep.
• Routine communications and reporting to clients and carriers.
• Take and defend depositions, manage written discovery, and work with expert witnesses.
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and briefs in state and federal courts.
• Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Trial preparation and trial work.

This is your chance to join a dynamic litigation team handling high-exposure casualty and personal injury matters and construction litigation! The ideal candidate will have a strong background defending complex personal injury and casualty claims, a proven ability to manage their own caseload, and experience meeting billable hour requirements in a fast-paced litigation environment. This attorney will defend a broad range of casualty matters.

• Develop and implement case strategy including early case assessment, motion practice, discovery planning, and trial preparation
• Routine communications and reporting to clients and carriers
• Take and defend depositions, manage written discovery, and work closely with expert witnesses throughout the litigation process
• Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and briefs in state and federal courts
• Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, arbitrations
• Trial preparation and trial work

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active member and in good standing of the Texas State Bar
• 8+ years of general casualty litigation experience
• Experience handling complex personal injury and casualty matters
• Proven ability to manage billable hour requirements
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
• Must be responsive with excellent organizational and case management skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients
